Do you hate brussel sprouts? Lots of people do!

Although its not too unusual to find brussel sprouts in bars, flash fried and laden with an Asian inspired sauce, there are still so many people out there who hate them.

And no wonder because brussel sprouts can really suck. Overcooked they take on the odor of a wet dog that hasn’t had a bath in a very long time. But cooked properly they are delicious.

Here’s how I like them.

Sauteed Brussel Sprouts with Garlic

  • Author: Marc Greenwald

Description

These are guaranteed to change your mind if you think you hate brussel sprouts.

Ingredients

1 lb. Brussel Sprouts, stems trimmed, and cut in half down the center.

1 Tbsp Olive Oil

1 Tbsp Unsalted Butter

2 Cloves Garlic, minced.

Kosher Salt

Instructions

You need a good wide saute pan for this recipe. I like to use a cast iron skillet.

  1. Heat the pan over a medium heat
  2. Add the olive oil and butter to the pan. Once the butter is melted add the brussel sprouts, cut side down.
  3. Saute gently until brown, and then flip them and saute for more 3-4 minutes.
  4. Off the heat add the garlic and sprinkle with kosher salt.

That’s it! You are ready to serve ’em!
